Christmas in the City: A Family Holiday Guide to events around Hamilton
The Christmas Season is finally here, and for many, its that special time to make lasting memories with loved ones, give one another the gift of giving, and eat delicious, sweet-smelling Christmas treats!
During each holiday season, there seems to be a million things to do, and a million places to be. Though most of this usually revolves around shopping for presents and ensuring the household Elf is constantly on the move, we thought it would be helpful to give you a list of amazing, festive events happening all over Hamilton.
The Annual Kindertown Christmas
Each year, Kindertown’s families and friends, gather together to celebrate the end of the year, their Christmas Holidays and the always highly anticipated visit from two special folks whom truly believe that red is the new black.
Christmas in Gore Park
There are a whole bunch of fun events happening in Hamilton’s Gore Park this year, including a Ferris wheel, local vendors, crafty kids corner plus hot chocolate, mulled wine, and hot cider! Most importantly, on Friday December 7, between 5-7pm, the Christmas Tree of Hope will be lit up with a free live music!

Oh What Fun! – Harlequin Holiday Favourites
On Sunday, December 9th, the Harlequin Singers will be singing Christmas Carols between 3 and 5pm. Located just around the corner from Kindertown at the Family Church of Heritage Green on 360 Isaac Brock Drive, this could be a fun way to get the family in the Christmas Spirit

Spirit of Christmas
Hosted by Carmen’s Banquet & Convention Centre, this is a variety family show filled with favourite and familiar Christmas Classics that the whole family will enjoy. There will be two showings on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, on in the afternoon and one for dinner.

The Big Sing
On Friday, December 14, between 7 and 9 pm, the Ancaster Old Town Hall will be the host for live music, hot cider, and a Christmas concert with the Kaleidoscope Singers. If you’re in the area, don’t forget to also visit our friend Najah at her local children’s shop, Curated Cradle.

Home of the Holidays: The Hockey Sweater
It’s a winter classic as Canadian as Tim Hortons and snow. On Saturday, December 15, at 7:30 pm, the storybook comes to life at FirstOntario Concert Hall (formerly Hamilton Place).

The Sound of Music Sing-Along!
The beautiful Zoetic Theatre, on 526 Concession Street is hosting a Christmas Classic sing along for the entire family on Sunday, December 16 between 2-5pm.

Elf – The Musical
Running from November 28th – December 24th at Hamilton’s Theatre Aquarius, is the modern day Christmas Classic Elf.

Pioneer Christmas
Battlefield House Museum and Park National Historic Site will be hosting a month long 19th Century Christmas. Families can explore the old home, taking in all the sights, sounds and smells of a pioneer Christmas.
Puddicombe Estate’s Polar Express
Led by “Little Pud” and his ‘Toy Land’ friends, families can explore the Christmas grounds and enjoy hot chocolate, cookies and live music. Adults will also be treated to a food and wine pairing at the end of their day! There are only two days left – December 9th and 16th to get your spot!
