Catherine Switzer is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist (R.H.N.), Labor and Postpartum Doula as well as a Yoga Instructor.

In her late teens and early twenties, Catherine experienced several tragedies that affected her weight, drive, focus and motivation.  She decided to take responsibility of her own life by reversing the effects of unhealthy eating and a sedentary lifestyle. She prevailed and as she entered a new chapter in her life she feels the healthiest, both physically and mentally, that she ever has.  She returned to school to study nutrition with hopes of empowering others to take responsibility of their own health and lifestyle, along this path, birth support became a big interest of hers.

Catherine graduated from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in 2012. Passionate about living a balanced lifestyle, Catherine embodies the importance of proper nutrition and digestive health. She continues to dedicate her time to fertility, pregnancy, postpartum as well as infant, toddler and child nutrition. She encourages her clients to build a healthy relationship with food by starting with the basics, cooking, creating and enjoying. Bringing families into the kitchen together is an amazing opportunity to bond and form a greater appreciation for the food we eat.

As a Doula, Catherine is able to exercise her passion for supporting families during the most exciting and scary time in our lives. Doula care is best explained as emotional and physical support. Her trainings and certification through ProDoula has helped her develop a greater understanding of birth, bonding and unconditional/non-judgmental support.

Yoga became a big part of Catherine’s life in 2015 and an even bigger part throughout 2018 as she obtained her Yoga Teacher Training at In Fine Feather, in Hamilton Ontario. She is excited to help guide her community through safe practice, focusing on Prenatal, Postnatal and Flow. Currently offering Mom & Baby Classes in Ancaster, there will be many exciting new opportunities to flow with her through 2019.

We couldn’t be more excited by Catherine becoming apart of our KTown community. Through our Kindertown Blog, Catherine will be sharing her love and passion for healthy food and living with some of her favorite child friendly recipes, strategies and techniques.
